It's maybe not the best (nor the simple) way to do that, but is there any way to force the browser to use "If-Modified-Since" HTTP Header for this kind of content ?

every time you upload an avatar i will increase the version by 1.

the img url will then be like /img/avatar/uid?v=N and it will trigger a recache on a changed version Smile
